2021 Las Pedreras Pelito Lindo Garnacha Sierra de Gredos, Spain

Pelito Lindo is a brand new Garnacha made from two tiny 80-year-old parcels (totaling 0.45ha) planted at 1050 meters altitude on granitic sandy soils with high content of feldspar in the epic paraje (lieu-dit) of Navahondilla in Villanueva de vila. This is a corner of Gredos where vineyards are few and sought-after, with a very special expression that attracts the most accomplished producers in the region. Barbara says, Navahondilla paraje is a special area with a very deep and austere personality that is reflected in this cuve, with notes of pepper and smoke, and sandy tannins. The palate is tense and structured The wine is elegant and fluid but deep, it evolves in the glass, and every time you try it again there is something new. The parcels were fermented separately with native yeasts, 30% whole clusters, and 45 days of maceration; free run and 15% of pressed juice was aged for ten months in one 500L Stockinger and two 225L Sylvain barrels.
