The Doc Swinson rye undergoes maturation in a solera system, where younger whiskies are gradually incorporated into older barrels over time. It is a blend of mash bills aged 4-6 years in new oak, and is bottled without chill filtration. This edition was awarded Double Gold at the SF Spirits Competition. The whiskey strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and spice, with the honeyed notes from the rum complementing the rye’s herbaceous character. Despite its complex flavor profile, the whiskey still maintains a smooth finish at 95 proof.
