Since 1999 the Slyrs distillery has been producing the first and only Upper Bavarian single malt whisky using the classic rough- and fine brandy method.
From barley malt and mountain spring water stored in new oak barrels with 225 litre capacity, a vintage spirit is produced, which is only filled in a limited number of bottles.
The name “Slyrs” is a pseudo-Gaelic corruption of “Schliersee”.
The Slyrs matures for 12 years in American white oak barrels. Through the long storage and maturation period, it was able to develop its multi-layered aromas optimally.
