The collaboration between the Australian distillery Starward and the Islay distillery Lagavulin has resulted in a limited edition that is available exclusively in Austria.

This Australian single malt whisky from Starward was first matured in red wine casks and then refined for 18 months in casks from the Lagavulin distillery on Islay, Scotland.

Starward is characterized by its willingness to experiment and for this limited edition, smoky Scotch whisky casks from Lagavulin, a world-renowned distillery on Islay known for its smoky single malt Scotch whisky, were used. This special maturation in Lagavulin casks gives Starward’s Australian single malt whisky a unique and characteristic taste profile.

The combination of the tropical flavors of the red cask whisky with the rich coastal peat of the Lagavulin casks results in a rich and complex taste experience.

This collaboration highlights the role of casks in whisky production and presents a unique fusion of flavors and traditions from two renowned distilleries.
