2022 Daniel Vollenweider Riesling Wolfer Goldgrube Spatlese Feinherb AP 2, Mosel, Germany

The 2022er Goldgrube Riesling Sptlese AP 2 was made from fruit harvested at 87 Oechsle on very old un-grafted vines in the Jon sector of the vineyard and was fermented down to sweet levels of residual sugar. It offers a superb nose made of pear, fresh pineapple, aniseed herbs, green apple, whipped cream, and smoke. The wine is nicely playful and delicately smooth on the palate and leaves a gorgeous feel of whipped cream, ripe orchard fruits, anise, and earthy spices in the mouthwatering and quite tart finish. This is a great light expression of Goldgrube Sptlese. – Mosel Fine Wines
