For centuries, the Caribbean was a coveted destination for European explorations and trading activities. Many ships returning to Europe brought Caribbean rum with them. During these long sea voyages to Europe, it was noticed that rum changed and evolved over time, often improving when it reached the cooler climates of Europe. A fascinating experiment began in which premium Caribbean rum was barrel-aged using the craftsmanship of Scotch whisky producers and the ideal aging conditions of Scotland. Named after the precious stone “Larimar”, found exclusively in the enchanting Dominican Republic and whose colors resemble the sunlight glittering under the Caribbean sea, the rum was created as Ron Larimar.

This Ron Larimar 5 Years Old Small Batch Rum is distilled in the Dominican Republic and then aged in former bourbon barrels for a minimum of five years. After this initial aging, the rum receives its finish in first fill Oloroso sherry casks.
