2017 Royal Tokaji Blue Label Aszu 5 Puttonyos 250ml

Critic tasting note: “Gold reflections glimmer in this amber-colored sweet wine that has aromas of apricot, yellow peach and Bartlett pear. The palate shows flavors of acacia honey, canned apricot and Anjou pear. The finish has enough acidity to stand up to the sweetness. Jeff Jenssen” – 96/100, Wine Enthusiast

Intense nose with lots of botrytis. Great structure with flavours of lime, citrus and peaches, a fine balance of richness, racy acidity and a long finish.

Producer Notes: The classification system traditionally indicated the number of puttonyos harvesting baskets (27 litre or 22 24kgs) of Asz berries added to each Gnci (136 litre) cask of fermenting must/base wine. For example, a 5 Puttonyos wine would require 110 120kgs of Asz berries to every 136 litre of fermenting must/base wine. The same production method, adding Asz berries to fermenting must remained, but the final classification of each wine is now based on independent technical analysis of sugar levels.
