Critic tasting note: (2018 vintage) “Funky reduction still dominates this wine’s nose with yeasty fumes, but underneath bright lemon notes shine through. The palate comes in with compact concentration and bundled but buffered energy. Drive and verve are packed in 2018’s generosity, with a slender, bright core that conveys mouthwatering refreshment. Vineyard Notes

Les Preuses is probably taken from the word Perreuse (stone), the name given to the ancient Roman road which ran below the current vineyard. Made for ageing thanks to a dense, compact, clay-rich soil resting on a limestone bed. Winemaking 60-70% fermented in french oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel vats.

Ageing

14 or 15 months of maduration, of which 5 to 6 months on fine lees in french oak barrels, for 50 to 60% of the harvest. The end of maduration occurs in stainless steel vats.
