2021 Gaja Ca’Marcanda Magari Bolgheri DOP 750ml

Composed of 60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot off a mix of both white and dark soils. As always the varieties are vinified separately at around 25 degrees Celsius with 15% whole bunch component. After this the wine moves to oak for 12 months around which 25% is new. The vineyards are all situated near the winery all within Bolgheri DOC and classified as such.

The 2021 Magari is the most elegant Magari I can remember tasting. Vibrant, nuanced and medium in body, the 2021 possesses notable energy from start to finish. All the elements are so nicely balanced. Dark cherry, mocha, dried herbs, licorice and menthol are finely sculpted in this super-expressive Bolgheri red. Terrific.
