Over the past three decades the deforestation of Haiti, like much of the developing world, has outpaced any reforestation efforts. Shade cultivation for both coffee and cocoa optimize their yield in a warming climate. These two cash crops encourage reforestation across Haiti.
A delicious after dinner drink neat, or in your coffee. KAF ANM makes a superb Negroni with equal parts, gin and sweet vermouth.
Main ingredients: Haitian coffee beans, class Typica, are a high-quality, wild grown, bean native to the region. Usually dense in humidity and low on acidity, still grown in high altitudes and in the wild. A variety of local cacao pods (beans) have an average of 20 to 30 beans and are the highest quality, considered a delicacy. Beans are fermented, dried, and roasted. Some additional botanical ingredients are used such as aromatic herbs, Campche barks (Campechianum species), roots, orange peels and cane syrup to add the bittersweet flavor. Excellent for a chocolate martini.
