Caisteal Chamuis, also known as Knock Castle or Castle Camus, was a strategic fortress that helped the Clan MacLeod secure its rule over the Sleat Peninsula on Skye. The first elements of the castle were built in the 13th century on the site of an Iron Age fortress called Dun Thorabhaig. The ruins of the castle, which can be seen today, tell of its rich and turbulent history.
The Caisteal Chamuis 12 Years Old Sherry Casks Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a marriage of single malts from the Isle of Skye and the Orkneys. The whiskey matures for at least 12 years and receives the finish in specially made oloroso sherry casks.
