Cdigo Ancestral Mezcal is the purest expression of their centuries-old traditions. Sourced from the San Juan del Rio region of Oaxaca, Mexico, the 100% papalomes are cooked in earthen ovens, hand-mashed, distilled in Clay pot stills, and open-air fermented in hide. The nose is sweet and earthy with flavors of honey, tobacco, vanilla, and cantaloupe with a hint of earthy, clay salinity. The finish has a bright minerality with a touch of hazelnut.
