After the acquisition of Invergordon Distillers in 1972, two years later the first single malt was sold under the name Deanston. In 1982, the distillery was closed, celebrating a reopening in 1991 by Burn Stewart Distillers.
The production of this whiskey takes place in a former cotton mill dating back to 1785. The maturation takes place in ex-bourbon oak casks before the whiskey receives its finish in Bordeaux Red Wine Casks.
