Family-owned and sustainably produced rum since 1890, Flor de Cana is the world’s first rum producer.
In 1875, Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa, a young adventurer from Genoa, Italy, left his family behind to travel to the exotic land of Nicaragua. The perfect location for the distillery was found at the foot of San Cristobal Volcano, the highest and most active volcano in Nicaragua. The fertility of the surrounding lands, the enriched water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be crucial for the unique and smooth taste of the rum.
Flor de Cana stands for a greener future and fair trade certified spirits.
This amber rum is aged for at least 30 years in oak barrels. It is a single barrel rum from 1988.
It is exceptionally smooth, very fine and mild in aroma.
The bottle is adorned with a handmade volcanic rock stubble. There is a 1902 Nicaraguan postmark on the gift box. Signatures of 5 family generations are also included in the packaging.
This is a limited bottling of 500 bottles.
