The name “Kavalan” refers to the Yilan region, south-east of the capital Taipei, where the distillery is located. The choice of this location was largely influenced by the excellent water quality. Yilan has an abundance of cold spring water that rises from the Snow Mountain.
The whisky from this distillery is part of the Kavalan Core Series, with the classic whisky maturing in ex-bourbon casks.
