It boasts a luminous gold colour in the glass, bursting forth with flinty minerals and aromas and flavours of salted white plum, kumquat, and poached pears. Full-bodied with satiny textures and long, drawn-out salty lemon and mineral finish. Kendric Vineyards proprietor Stewart Johnson has poured a lifetime into caretaking his steep, east-facing 3.4-ha estate vineyard (part of the Cayetana Ranch) in the Petaluma Gap AVA in northern Marin County, where it is incredibly cool and windy.
