The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavor.
This edition of Laphroaig is dedicated to John Campbell the former distillery manager of Laphroaig.
The storage takes place in two different casks. First, the whiskey is stored in first fill ex-bourbon casks and then in hogsheads, which are made of European oak.
