This Mackmyra whisky is matured in a variety of cask sizes, including ex-bourbon American oak casks, Swedish oak casks and Oloroso sherry casks, giving it a variety of flavors.
A special note is the “Swedish smoke”, which is created through the use of local peat and juniper twigs. This gives the peated whisky a unique flavor profile reminiscent of a campfire in the forest. The peat used comes from the Karinmossen bog near the distillery.
