Founded in 1836 by Alexandre-Louis Pommery, Madame Pommery took over as head of Pommery after the death of her husband in 1858. She based the expansion of the House on the creation of wines unlike any others, with one constant demand: quality pushed to the extreme. Well aware of how important the origin of grapes was to the quality of the Pommery wines, over the years she built a collection of the finest vineyards in all of Champagne. Champagne Pommery produces cuv es from meticulous vineyard selection with a unique history of balancing tradition and modernity. Led by Madame Pommery, a talented and visionary woman, Champagne Pommery is known as the Maison that created the first dry Champagne in 1874 (known today as the Brut style). Today, 92% of champagnes are made in the Brut style Madame Pommery created. Cl ment Pierlot is only the 10th Chef des Caves since 1836. As an engineer in agriculture and enologist, Cl ment is devoted to organic viticulture and is leading the conversion of all Pommery vineyards. Tasting Notes:
Eye: a pale yellow color with green reflections, showing the presence of Chardonnay. Effervescence is continuous with very fine bubbles. Nose: ‘playful’, fresh and delicate. A few notes of citrus and white flowers then, the red fruit and, small tart red berries aromas. Followed by notes of white fruits such as peach and apple. Palate: elegant and lively. The notes of red fruits grow stronger, within a beautifully round body with delicacy and length. Ultimately, the wine leaves a very clean mouth, without a hint of dryness.
