Crafted by Redemptions master blender Dave Carpenter, Redemption wheated bourbons creation was inspired by the rye-forward characteristic of pre-prohibition recipes. Prior to Prohibition, most whiskey was Rye heavy and known as Americas favorite spirit. Redemption hopes to reflect the American character and resolve and believes the rye character will be just as appreciated as it was over one hundred years ago. With a mashbill of 45% wheat, 51% corn, and 4% malted barley, Redemption Wheated Bourbon explores the subtle nuances and characteristics that a high wheat content can bring forth. This unique expression offers complex flavors and an exceptionally distinct palette. On the nose are aromas of lavender, sage and candied ginger mingling with hints of vanilla, pear and cedar. The palate is a balance of silky smooth and robust intensity with flavors of smoked meats, roasted coffee beans, toasted hazelnuts leading into spicy baking spices, cardamom, and black pepper.
