The Mortlach 17 year old was distilled in 2007 and underwent a long maturation in Oloroso sherry butts, which gives it aromas of dark dried fruit, spices, caramel and a subtle oak note. This maturation in sherry casks not only brings out the fruity sweetness of raisins, plums and cherries, but also the warm spices of cinnamon and cloves, which make this whisky a complex and multi-layered experience.
