Stauning HOST (pronounced “hurst” and meaning “harvest” in Danish) is the perfect introduction to Stauning’s uniquely Danish “grain-to-glass” approach. Stauning HOST is a double malt whisky from Denmark, characterized by its soft, fruity and floral notes. It is reminiscent of the warming rays of the Danish late summer sun and is made from locally grown rye and barley. It is matured in American oak barrels with an admixture of port wine wood, which gives it an additional depth of flavor.

This whisky represents the characteristic Danish approach to whisky making, which is characterized by simplicity, sustainability and timeless style. Stauning HOST is made from 100% floor-malted rye and barley and is characterized by its quality and deep nuances of taste. It is distilled twice in small, direct-fired copper stills, which intensifies the rich taste of the malt.
